To calculate your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) and daily calorie goal, we may collect:

Health Tracking Data (Stored Locally Only)

When you use the app, the following data is stored locally on your device:

• Blood glucose readings
• Food intake and calorie logs
• Steps and active energy data (synced from Apple Health with your permission)
• Weight measurements
• Water intake
• Meal logs and timestamps

We do not have access to any of this personal health data.

Analytics Data (Non-Personal)

We use Firebase Analytics to collect:

• App crash data
• App usage statistics
• Feature usage patterns

Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, store, or transmit:

• Your name or personal identification
• Your email address or phone number
• User accounts or login credentials (the app requires no sign-up)
• Your personal health data on our servers

Your personal health data stored on your device is used to:

Local Storage

Firebase Remote Config

• We use Firebase Remote Config to deliver app settings and configurations
• No personal or health data is written to Firebase
• This service only delivers app settings, not user data

Third-Party Services

Apple Health

• The app integrates with Apple Health to sync step count and active energy data
• This integration requires your explicit permission
• You can revoke this permission at any time in iOS Settings
• We do not store Health data on any external servers

Apple In-App Purchase

• All subscriptions are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system
• Apple handles all payment information
• We do not have access to your payment details
• For billing issues, contact Apple Support directly

Firebase (Google)

• Used only for anonymous analytics and remote configuration
• Does not receive any personal health data
• Subject to Google's privacy policy for Firebase services

Your Data Rights

Data Access

• You have full access to all your data stored locally in the app
• You can view, edit, or delete any health entry at any time

Data Deletion

• Uninstall the app: All locally stored data will be deleted
• iCloud data: You can delete your iCloud backup through iOS Settings → iCloud → Manage Storage
• Analytics data: Anonymous analytics cannot be deleted as it's not linked to you

Data Portability

• Your data is stored in standard formats on your device
• Data syncs across your Apple devices via iCloud

Children's Privacy

PortionPal is not intended for use by children under the age of 15. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 15. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

Medical Disclaimer

Data Breach Notification

In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting Firebase Analytics (the only service where any data is sent), we will:

• Notify affected users via app notification or email (if available)
• Disclose the nature of the breach
• Provide guidance on protective measures

Note: Since personal health data is stored only on your device, it cannot be breached through our systems.

International Users

Our app is available internationally. By using PortionPal:

• You consent to your analytics data being processed in accordance with this policy
• Your personal health data remains on your device and in your iCloud account
• We comply with applicable data protection laws including GDPR where applicable

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:
